Starting a blog can seem daunting. I know when I first started, I was confused. I am still confused especially since I started with my wordpress.com blog and went self hosted. Being new to blogging is scary if you don’t know where to start. Bloggers make it seem so easy, but trust me, it is not.

5 Tips For new Bloggers To Get Started In The Blogging World
Hi everyone, I’m Zainab from Zainab Chats ! I just wanted to thank Brianna for allowing me to guest post on her blog! Today, I’m going to share 5 tips for new bloggers to get started in the blogging industry!
Pick An Easy Platform
Pick An Easy Platform
There are many blogging platforms but a lot of them can be complex! I would say if you’re just starting out, the best platform is Blogger! It’s really simple to use and all you need is a Google account to get started!
(Note from Brianna: among other platforms are wordpress.com and wix. Personally, I chose wordpress.com because of the customization but ultimately blogger from google is very simple.)
Pick Some Niches
Niches are basically categories for your blog. Some of the most popular ones are: Lifestyle, Fashion and Fitness! I would recommend you pick two or three as it’s hard to post so many blog posts if you have just picked one niche!
(Note from Brianna: I struggle with this, I seem to be all over because I want to enjoy writing on my blog. Hence, why I jump all over topics. It may be hard as a new blogger to find your niche and that’s okay-I am still working on it too,)
Find Some Blogs To Follow In Your Niche
There are so many great blogs out there so be sure to find a couple of blogs that are in your niche and interact with them! This will allow you to make blogging friends, get some post inspiration (make sure you give credit!) and since you’re in the same niche they will probably be interested in your blog too!
Creating A Matching Social Media Account
Having a matching social media account is crucial for you to grow in the beginning. When I started and I only had around 10 followers, social media really allowed me to build up my audience and that’s where a majority of my traffic came from in the beginning! Another great thing about it, is that it allows you to interact with your followers more!
Produce Some Content
So this one goes without saying, but once you have done all the above steps, produce some content! You can find some great inspiration from blogs you follow (again, make sure you give credit) and Pinterest is another great source!
