Welcome back! It has been a while. I have been quite busy with university. However, I am here to bring you back another interview post. If you haven’t seen my previous interview posts make sure to click here to catch up! Now let me introduce you to Sierra! She is a Christian content creator and YouTuber. I asked her some questions about her experiences and I wanted to give you some insight.

Tell me about yourself: Name, Age, what you do About your Youtube channel, and how just the story of how you got to where you are today)

Hey!! My name is Sierra and I am 16 years old! I make teen lifestyle and Christian content on my YouTube channel. I have been making YouTube videos for about 5 years, and I have always loved being on camera/being on stage since I can remember!

When did you start doing Youtube?

In 2017, when I was 10, I made my first YouTube video and posted it to my YouTube channel. Before that, I made videos with my two younger sisters for fun. I have learned so much since starting my channel!

How did you come up with your Youtube channel name?

I remember it took me a while to figure out what I was going to name my channel. I brainstormed so many ideas, but I finally decided on Fun with Sierra! Some channel names I was considering were Sierra’s Stuff and Life with Sierra. 

What motivates you?

When I look at my old content, it inspires me because of how far I’ve come!

Where do you get inspiration?

If I ever feel like I need inspiration, I actually watch my own videos. It helps me focus on my style of content, rather than getting out of my creative block by watching other creators. 

How do you define success?

In my opinion, success isn’t about how many followers you have or how “famous” you are. It’s about what impact you make on someone’s life. 

Would you consider yourself successful?

I think I am successful, but I still have so much more growth to do. I’m successful in what I’m doing now, and I will be successful in what I’m doing 10 years from now!

What’s the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?

Keep doing what you’re doing, and don’t let what someone says about you be the reason you stop doing what is making you successful. 

Have you ever been teased or made fun of at school because of your Youtube channel?

If I’m being completely honest, I try not to tell many people at school about my channel. I will definitely tell my close friends, but telling EVERYONE about it is a little scary. When I tell people about my channel, pretty much everybody thinks it’s so cool! The problem is I get in my head too much when it comes to telling my friends about my YouTube channel.

What inspired you to start a youtube channel, especially at a young age?

I have always loved being on stage and in front of the camera! I did choir at church throughout elementary school, and I’ve been in so many musical shows! My channel has been a place where I can share my life through a camera, and make memories that will last forever!

What is your goal/dream/vision for your channel?

I’m not exactly sure what I want to do with my channel in the future, but I definitely want to inspire people to closer to God through whatever videos I make!

Advice for people who want to start a youtube channel?

Don’t worry about what other people think, if you have the desire to do it, then GO FOR IT! Always remember it doesn’t have to be perfect. 🙂

Are you ever scared of putting your videos on the internet?

Honestly, no. I know there are going to be haters, and people I know in person can easily find my channel, but that hasn’t stopped me from not posting a video!

How has starting a youtube channel benefited you?

Starting a YouTube channel has helped me gain experience with content creation and videography! Someone from my church found out about my YouTube channel, and they wanted me to be the photographer for Vacation Bible School. It is awesome to put on my resume as well!

What are your long-term career goals?

As of now, I want to do something that has to do with marketing/business, because it’s something that I’m very passionate about.

Someone you admire and why?

Someone I admire are my parents. They have pushed me to reach my full potential with my YouTube channel and content creation. Both of my parents do public speaking, and they have given me tips on talking in front of a camera and being expressive!
