Interviews

Friendly & Optimistic : Zainab

Welcome back to my blog! I am back with a creator interview! If you remember Zainab did a guest post all about blogging tips! Let’s begin!

What is your name?

Hi there my name is Zainab! I’m a young Teen Positivity Blogger who you may know from my blog: Zainab Chats! Zainab Chats is a positivity blog that I started to try and embrace positivity and spread it – lately I’ve also started adding a lot more journalistic type posts too!

When did you start blogging & what inspired you to start Zainab Chats?

So, I started blogging in December of 2019 on a blog called Z.H Blogs. That blog was a great way for me to learn the basics of blogging and to see if I enjoyed it – but then I realised it was my passion! For around 3 months I blogged on Z.H Blogs but then in April 2020, I launched my current blog: Zainab Chats and it has been one of the best decisions I ever made!

The thing that inspired me to start my blog was just the message of positivity! I know especially for teenagers it can be really hard to keep positive (I struggle with this myself sometimes). Therefore, I wanted to try and spread positivity and to just have a platform to express myself!

What is your blog called?

My blog is called: Zainab Chats.

How did you come up with Zainab Chats?

I came up with the name: Zainab Chats because I actually get called a chatterbox quite a lot, hence the name Zainab ‘Chats’ so the name really reflects myself!

How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?

Well, I initially wasn’t sure how to do this – but I found a method that I really worked. Essentially, I set aside a day each week (normally Sundays) to schedule 2 blog posts for that upcoming week. It’s been a super effective method and definitely has prevented stress and burnout for me. That’s something I tell many new bloggers to do!

Who has impacted you most in blogging and how?

The person that has impacted me the most is a blogger called Meg Says! She has a YouTube Channel (and previous blog) and I came across her YouTube channel which made me start a blog! She also lives with a chronic illness and is so positive, so she really inspires me and my content (I would definitely recommend you check her out!)

What do you do in your spare time (besides blogging)?

Great question! Well one thing I do is karate, it’s a really good skill to have as it improves my fitness and is good for the real world (but I will hopefully never have to use it!) I’m also really into journalism/activism. So I like trying to come up with interview questions for people on my blog. I also just got accepted into a local youth board in my area to help campaign for healthier futures for future generations which I’m really excited to be a part of!

What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?

Spam comments 100% They’re the worst, haha!

What is your favorite blog post you have written on Zainab Chats?

That’s a difficult question, I’d probably say the ‘Answering Questions You’re Too Afraid To Ask Bloggers’ post!

It was a big trend on YouTube at the time, and nobody had really done a blog post for this, and it did really well and was super fun to write!

How would (someone) describe your blogging style?

People say my blogging style is quite a friendly and optimistic tone – I like to think I write how I talk! I really like to keep my blog personal to my readers!

Anything else you would like my readers to know?

Thanks so much for having me 🙂 If you’d like to check out my blog, just search Zainab Chats! Also, keep supporting Brianna – she’s amazing!
